Technical Operations Manager: WABC-TV, New York, is looking for an individual with a solid technical and management background to oversee the day to day operations of our multi-stream on-air operation and assist in the design and implementation of new systems to support these operations. The successful candidate will need to have 6 or more years experience overseeing broadcast News and Master Control / On-Air operations at a major market television station. This position includes managerial responsibilities as well as the need for an in-depth understanding of complex digital video, digital audio, and LAN systems, with a proven ability to diagnose and rectify problems associated with these file-based systems quickly. Excellent communication skills are required as this person will be required to work closely with Traffic, Sales, News and Programming departments, as well as establish operating procedures and train personnel. We are looking for a candidate with experience in the following areas: Budgeting, implementing new technologies, personnel scheduling, and technical documentation using AutoCad. The individual in this position will also be required to participate in WABC’s Fire and Safety programs, as well as insure compliance with FCC regulations. Off-hour and weekend work will be required. Maintenance Engineer: The MLB Network seeks a Maintenance Engineer to support a state of the art HD television facility. Responsibilities: Assist in the maintenance of studio production environments, NLE systems, master control environment, the earth station, and the cutting edge graphics suite. Perform installation tasks such as wiring changes and new equipment integration. Skills & Experience: Basic knowledge of television systems as well as computer/networking. Ability to read technical drawings, learn new concepts, and develop the skill set needed to become a Level 2 Engineer. Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Wiring and integration skills and AutoCad experience a plus. Familiarity with system components and equipment used in a production facility. Candidate should be a self starter and a team player. Able to work weekends/ flexible hours, including overnight shifts. This position should be considered one level about entry level and as a career builder. Must be proficient and committed to all platforms including website, digital channel, and mobile. Applicants must have demonstrated success in superior customer service internally and externally, staff development, managing capital and operating budgets, managing computer integration and networking, and interfacing with vendors to insure seamless operations. Requires previous experience with digital automation systems and working knowledge of FCC and safety regulations to insure station compliance. The successful candidate will have at least five years experience in television engineering management, a BSEE and FCC license.
